Battlefield for Health is a faith-centered guide to building a healthy life from the inside out—body, mind, and spirit. Rather than offering quick fixes or rigid plans, this book invites readers into a slow, intentional journey rooted in biblical truth, self-control, and daily obedience.
Drawing from her unique experience as both a master potter and a natural bodybuilder, Cathleen Lerew offers a rare perspective on transformation. Whether shaping clay or strengthening the body, she has learned that lasting change is formed through patience, discipline, and surrender to God’s process. The same principles that prevent clay from cracking and bodies from breaking are the ones that build resilient faith and sustainable health.
Through powerful metaphors of digging, laying foundations, and adding bricks one day at a time, Battlefield for Health reframes wellness as an act of stewardship and worship. This book meets readers in real life—busy schedules, imperfect days, setbacks, and seasons of rest—emphasizing grace over perfection, purpose over motivation, and discipline as empowerment rather than punishment.
Woven throughout are Scripture, personal testimony, reflection prompts, and practical habits designed to renew the mind, care for the body with intention, and strengthen spiritual resolve. This is not a program to complete, but a foundation to build upon—one that equips readers to serve God’s purpose with strength, clarity, and endurance.
This is not a program to complete—it is a foundation to build upon.

🌸 A New Chapter for Emerge Youth
Over the past school year, Emerge Youth had the privilege of serving an incredible group of young women through a confidence-building wellness and personal development program. Together, we explored topics such as self-confidence, consistency, kindness, creativity, healthy habits, personal strengths, and leadership.
The success of this program confirmed what we already believed: our youth need support, encouragement, mentorship, and a strong foundation as they navigate some of the most influential years of their lives.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Emerge Youth will expand into an in-house program, held at our main location, Under The Horizon in Gettysburg. Emerge Youth is building from our deeply established God-centered healthy lifestyle program foundation.
This next chapter will allow us to go deeper into the topics that matter most:
Our mission is simple:
To help young women, ages 10 to 13, understand who they are, Whose they are, and how to live healthy, purpose-filled lives that allow them to serve God and others well.
Through interactive lessons, creative clay projects, mentorship, discussion, movement, and hands-on activities, participants will be encouraged to develop lifelong habits that support both physical and spiritual well-being.
If you would like to learn more about the next chapter of Emerge Youth, we would love to hear from you.
